Jesus Over Giant: How to Face What's Loud With the One Who Is Bigger

Aug 3
Facing a giant in your life? Here's how to bring your fears and the lies you keep hearing to Jesus, and walk forward in the truth of who He says you are.
Every one of us is standing in front of something loud right now.

Maybe it's fear, an old wound, a diagnosis, a broken relationship, or a lie that just will not stop repeating itself in your head.

Here is the good news: your giant does not get the final word, Jesus does. And He has been standing closer than you think this whole time.

You Have a Giant, and So Did David

Long before Goliath ever stepped onto the battlefield in 1 Samuel 17, David already knew who he was. He wasn't the strongest or most experienced fighter in Israel's camp, but he had spent real time with God in the quiet, and that time shaped how he saw the giant in front of him. Everyone else saw a monster. David saw a God who was bigger. That is where facing our own giants has to start too, not by staring harder at what scares us, but by remembering who Jesus says we are before the giant ever opens its mouth.

God Is Nearer Than the Noise

Joshua 1:9 says, "Be strong and courageous... for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go." Your giant might be loud. It might be persistent. It might show up as fear, shame, anxiety, sickness, or an accusation that keeps looping in your mind. But loud does not mean powerful, and near does not mean small. God is nearer than the noise, and that changes everything about how we walk forward.

Let Jesus Have the Final Word

Here is where real freedom happens. Name the accusation you keep hearing. Surrender it to Jesus, agreement and all. Let His blood wash the shame, sin, fear, and false agreement clean. Then ask Him what He says in place of the lie, and receive it, not just believe it in your head, but receive it for yourself. That is your new stand: God is with you, the giant does not name you, and Jesus has the final word.
