What We Believe
Statement of Faith
Everything we believe begins and ends with Jesus. He reveals the heart of the Father and leads us by the Holy Spirit. We are committed to living in relationship with the Father, following Jesus, and being led and empowered by the Holy Spirit. We ground our lives in Scripture and seek to walk closely with God in every part of life.
God the Father
We believe God is our loving Father — holy, just, merciful, and good. He created all things and desires relationship with His children.
Jesus Christ
Fully God and fully man. Through His life, death, and resurrection we are forgiven, restored, and brought into relationship with God.
Holy Spirit
Lives within believers, guiding, transforming, empowering, and producing spiritual fruit.
Bible
The inspired Word of God and foundation for truth and life.
Gifts of the Holy Spirit
We believe the Holy Spirit is still actively moving today and that the gifts of the Spirit are part of God bringing His Kingdom to earth, just as Jesus taught us to pray: “Your Kingdom come, Your will be done, on earth as it is in Heaven.” (Matthew 6)
We believe the Holy Spirit gives spiritual gifts to believers to strengthen, encourage, comfort, heal, guide, build up the Church, and bring the Gospel to the world. These gifts are an expression of God’s love and power working through His people for the good of others.
We believe these gifts include wisdom, knowledge, faith, healing, prophecy, discernment, tongues, interpretation of tongues, and other Spirit-led expressions described in Scripture. We welcome the work of the Holy Spirit and desire to grow in listening and responding to His leading.
At the same time, we believe the purpose of every spiritual gift is to serve others and glorify Jesus — never to elevate ourselves. When practiced in love and humility, the gifts bring encouragement, unity, and a deeper focus on Christ.
We seek to steward the gifts of the Spirit with wisdom, accountability, and a strong foundation in Scripture, so that Jesus remains the center and people are strengthened.
Salvation
A gift of grace through faith in Jesus, restoring us to the Father and giving new life.
Freedom & Healing
Jesus continues to heal and set people free — spiritually, emotionally, and physically.
Identity in Christ
We are sons and daughters of God. The beloved of the Almighty. Identity is the foundation of growth and calling.
The Church
A family of believers formed by Jesus and sent into the world.
Discipleship
A lifelong journey of walking with God and becoming like Jesus Christ.
Leadership
Every believer is empowered by God to greatly impact the world. We do this by Christ flowing through us to impact others. As we follow Christ’s lead, the same power of His ministry flows through our leadership.
Calling & Sending
God has a purpose for every person, and we are committed to equipping and releasing people into it.
Leadership Posture
Leadership is not about position, status, or control.
It is about walking closely with Jesus and helping others do the same.
Our leaders:
Lead from relationship with God
Lead by example
Lead with humility
Lead to raise others
Lead with love
Lead open-handed, not controlling
We walk together as a family, carry the vision together, and release people into what God calls them to do.
Leadership begins with being with Jesus.
FAQ
The Fivefold Heart of Leadership
At Rise Up Culture Church, we believe Jesus reveals His heart through the fivefold expressions described in Ephesians 4:11 — apostolic, prophetic, evangelistic, pastoral, and teaching.
We do not see these as titles of status, but as dimensions of Christ’s leadership expressed through His people.
As we appoint elders and raise leaders, we desire to reflect the fullness of Christ’s heart:
Apostolic — vision, pioneering, building, and sending
Prophetic — discernment, listening to the Spirit, guarding purity
Evangelistic — boldness, outreach, and passion for the lost
Pastoral — care, protection, nurture, and relational wisdom
Teaching — grounding in Scripture, clarity, and doctrinal stability
No single gift fully represents Jesus.
Healthy leadership requires balance.
While we may not always have perfect representation of each expression at every stage, we intentionally seek to cultivate a leadership culture that honors and integrates the full heart of Christ.
This protects us from imbalance and helps us lead with humility, discernment, courage, compassion, and truth.
Women in Ministry
At Rise Up Culture Church, we believe God created men and women in His image and calls both to live fully in their identity and calling in Christ.
We affirm that spiritual gifts are given by the Holy Spirit without distinction based on gender. Throughout Scripture, we see women serving in significant leadership, prophetic, teaching, and apostolic roles (Judges 4; Luke 8:1–3; Acts 18:26; Romans 16).
We believe that leadership in the Church is based on calling, gifting, character, and spiritual maturity — not gender. Therefore, we welcome and encourage women to serve, lead, teach, prophesy, pastor, evangelize, and function in any role for which God has called and equipped them.
At the same time, we honor the beautiful distinctions God designed between men and women. We are not seeking to erase those differences, but to remove limitations we do not believe Scripture places on women in ministry leadership.
